AirTag is becoming an airline nightmare

John Lewis is a fairly well-known figure in the United States, particularly for his vegetarian lifestyle which he shares on social networks. But in one of his latest tweets, it's not about nutrition, but about aviation and Apple.

It all started a few weeks ago during a flight with American Airlines. Lewis explains that he misplaced his wallet during the latter. He quickly realized the problem and tried to contact the company's after-sales service.

On the other end of the phone, the people in charge of his case explain to him that his belongings are lost and that they cannot find the wallet. Fortunately for him, Lewis had the good idea to associate aAirTag.

A trip to more than 35 American cities

He explains that he managed to track the exact position of his tracker in more than 35 different cities in the United States. It thus precisely reproduces the path of the plane since its landing, and in the hours that followed.

Finally, the company's teams combed the rows of seats and ended up finding the sensor stuck between two cushions. Unfortunately for Lewis, the wallet was missing and only the small Apple tracker was found.

In a final message on social networks, Lewis thanks the company's teams for their work and explains that he has already contacted his banks to cancel his credit cards. He throws a bottle into the sea for the person who found his wallet on the plane, leaving theAirTag on site.

AirTag and aviation: I don't like you either

This new story reminds us to what extent the Cupertino company's small tracer is a powerful object. Put on sale by Apple in 2021, the AirTag has since established itself as an essential object. The airline world, which loses several hundred thousand pieces of baggage every year, suffers from the presence of these trackers.

The German company Lufthansa once banned the use of such a device in its luggage before backtracking on the subject.
