With the arrival of theiPhone 5, Apple continued
to market the iPhone 4S but also the iPhone 4, thus offering a
wider range particularly in terms of price. With the price drop
that the old models experienced, they can boast of a second
particularly active career.
And the latest figures from Consumer Intelligence Research
Partners confirm this since theiPhone 5 only represents 52% of
sales:
When leaving theiPhone 5, to the
quickly gained the upper hand over the range with 68% of sales under the effect of
novelty. As the device is relatively expensive, many users have
then preferred to space out the renewal of their smartphone or have
chose to switch to a cheaper device. As a result, the iPhone 4 and 4S
(which remain excellent machines) do a good job with a quality ratio
/ price which suits many users since it allows access to
the iPhone without necessarily breaking the bank.
So, last month, theiPhone 4S still represented 30% of
sales(33% in March) wheniPhone 4 progresses with
18%(14% in March).
Today, theiPhone 5therefore stabilizes around
50% of iPhone sales. Interestingly, we also notice that55%
of iPhone 5 buyers already owned an iPhoneand this
proportion drops to30% for iPhone 4Sand to22%
for iPhone 4. The iPhone 4/4S therefore allows Apple to touch
more new customers discovering the Apple range and who will then be able to
turn to more expensive models or even toiPadI'm not a Mac.
Apple must reveal the figures for its 3rd quarter 2013 this evening
and it is likely that we will learn more about iPhone sales at
this opportunity. Ifthe cheap iPhone actually sees
the day this year, it will be particularly interesting to see
how Apple will decide to reorganize its range. Will the iPhone 4 and 4S pass
forgotten like the iPod touch 4G during the discreet launch of the iPod touch
5 16GB? To be continued!
And what do you think? With which model did you discover
l’iPhone ?
