The horizons are expanding for fans of Netflix games who will soon have the freedom to play from a wider range of devices. The streaming giant's recent announcement reveals that two of its games are currently being tested in beta on PC, Mac and television.

After inauguratinghis first gameson smartphones in 2021, Netflix now plans to make them available on all devices allowing access to its platform. The experience should therefore extend to television and computer screens, thus simplifying its accessibility to users. An opportunity for players to explore a new dimension of their favorite games using the various media available.

The iPhone as a controller

Depending on the choice of device, the game mode differs: the touch screen is used to play on a smartphone, the mouse for PC games, and the controller for television sessions. However, the additional purchase of a controller is not required since Netflix plans to develop an iOS application compatible with certain televisions, allowing the iPhone to be transformed into a game controller.

Netflix user numbers decline

A little over a year ago, we talked about Netflix's difficulties in findingways to get back on track.

As a reminder, between March and June 2022, no less than 900,000 users left the platform and canceled their subscription.

Faced with the scale of this loss, Netflix is struggling to maintain its dominant position in the streaming industry.

In a fit of despair, the end of account sharing was first introduced, which did not fail to displease users.

To compensate for this measure and offer a viable alternative to people who previously took advantage of an account that was not theirs, the platform launched a reduced price offer: the “Essential with advertising” subscription at 5.99 euros.

However, we cannot ignore the remarkable emergence of other platforms with increasingly attractive catalogs. As competition intensifies, Netflix is facing user losses, and it appears the platform is exploring new avenues to enrich its members' experiences to keep them engaged as customers.
