MacRumors reports that Tom O'Malley and his fellow analysts at Barclays traveled to Asia to meet with various manufacturers and suppliers. This investigation allowed them to learn that the fourth generation iPhone SE should be launchedtowards the end of the first quarter of 2025.Remember that the South Korean mediaAjunews also mentions a launch of the iPhone SE 4 in March 2025.
Other interesting information gleaned for specialists: this new smartphonewould be equipped with a 5G modem designed by Apple itself and not by Qualcomm, as 9to5Mac recently reported. The Apple brand has reportedly been working on its own 5G modem since 2018 in order to no longer depend on the American company. Apple has extended its 5G modem supply agreement with Qualcomm for iPhones until 2026, so it still has a little time to make a smooth transition.
Note that Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo ofTFInternational Securities, specializing in news from the Cupertino company, recently declared thatthe iPhone 17 Air, which would be even thinner than the iPhone 6, would feature an Apple 5G modem.
