The iPhone 13 mini will be assembled by Pegatron

We announced it to you yesterday,Apple plans to release an iPhone 13 mini, despite the rather disappointing sales figures for the iPhone 12 mini, released last September. The 5.4-inch version of Apple's phone was never able to find its audience, who largely preferred to turn to the iPhone 12 Pro and its LiDAR, abandoning the "mini" version. A failed start therefore, but a start nonetheless for the “small” iPhone which intends to make a more important place on the market this year.

Indeed, the various Apple managers want the iPhone “mini” to exist, despite the relative failure of last year. Thus an iPhone 13 mini will see the light of day, and according to the information thatDigiTimescommunicated in its latest report, it is Pegatron, one of Apple's most important subcontractors, which should be responsible for assembling the phone.

This supplier was suspended by Apple in Novemberlast for having committed numerous faults towards its employees. After an in-depth investigation by the Apple brand, the two companies resumed their collaboration, without us really knowing to what extent working conditions have evolved since last year's incident.

One last one and then that's it?

Ming-Chi Kuo explained in his latest note that the Cupertino company, although it wants to give the “Mini” versions of its phone a chance, will not do so indefinitely. According to the analyst, the “mini” series will end with the iPhone 13. The iPhone 14, planned for 2022, should be entitled to two 6.7-inch Max versions, one “classic” and the other “Pro” that we are already used to seeing on the shelves of the Apple Store.

Introduced with the iPhone 12, the “mini” versions of the iPhone will only have existed for two years. Beyond the low sales figures, Apple seems to have “attempted” a coup with this phone, without having great ambitions for it, from its launch. Positioned at the same level as the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, the “mini” did not have all the features of its big brothers, while the price was approximately the same.
