The time trial is on for Apple. The Apple brand presented Apple Intelligence at the last edition of its WWDC, the major conference for developers around the world. This functionality, based on artificial intelligence, Apple talked about a lot during this conference, but internally the development work is still far from finished.
Indeed, a report published by Bloomberg explains thatApple Intelligence should be a few weeks lateat the start of the school year. While it was initially planned that the functionality would arrive with the iOS 18 update, present by default in all iPhoen 16s, it seems that Apple was forced to change strategy.
Taken by time, the Apple brand finally decided to release iOS 18 in September as planned, but without Apple Intelligence. A hard blow for the Cupertino company which risks seeing the adoption rate of iOS 18 fall. Apple Intelligence should nevertheless arrive on compatible iPhones (find which ones here). The Bloomberg news agency explains thatthe feature will be the star of iOS 18.1.
A delay that comes at a bad time
This delay of only a few weeks could nevertheless mean that Apple Intelligence will not be present on board theiPhone 16 when releasedon the market during the month of September. This is a risk for Apple which will have to convince during the first days, without the main software functionality of these iPhones.
As for the beta versions, which are published by Apple throughout the summer in order to test the new software features of iOS 18, Apple Intelligence is also late. In its article on the subject, the specialized media iClarified explains that the beta versions of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 should arrive on compatible devices next week.
