1080p on FaceTime is now supported starting with iPhone 8

High Tech brands can often be criticized for committing planned obsolescence. In this sense, Apple is one of the companies most often in the spotlight. And yet the apple brand is trying to get rid of this annoying label. In this sense we can note that the new version of the Apple brand's OS on its phones, iOS 14, was still compatible with the iPhone SE and 6s, models which now have 5 years of life behind them.

Another little piece of news, more recent which goes in this direction, is the update ofFaceTime, the video calling application developed by Apple recently supports 1080p on iPhone 8 and later models. The phones released in 2017 are, at first glance, no longer Apple's priority.

Many iPhones affected

This addition was made during the iOS 14.2 update. But it does not only concern one iPhone model on the contrary, it is the entire Apple range which is concerned, starting with the iPhone 8. The 8Plus and X models also released in 2017 benefit from this update in the same way as the iPhone XS released the following year and the XR or SE 2020 models as well as the entire iPhone 11 range.

If you are the owner of one of its models, check that update 14.2 has been installed on your phone, if this is the case you will therefore benefit from 1080p during your FaceTime calls.
