While Apple will unveil the new iPhone 12 in a few months, the Apple brand is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the iPhone 4. This was during a keynote held on June 7 at WWDC 2010 in San Francisco that Steve Jobs presented the new phone.
The iPhone 4 is Apple's first smartphone to feature a square design, where the edges of the previous phone were rounded. It is also the first model to feature a Retina screen as well as stainless steel.
This iPhone 4 was a great success when it was released, despite some problems linked to the fact that the mobile network dropped depending on how the user held the smartphone. Apple fixed the problem with the iPhone 4S unveiled a year later.
During this same keynote, Steve Jobs also presented FaceTime, the native videoconferencing application from Apple. He took the opportunity to call Jony Ive on live video, famous designer of the Apple brand who has worked on many popular products such as the iPod Shuffle, the iPhone and the MacBook Air. Promoted to CEO of the company's design department in 2016, he finally announced his departure from Apple last year andleaves the company in November 2019.
A square iPhone 12 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone 4?
If the iPhone 4 celebrates its 10th anniversary, it seems that Apple plans to give a nod to this model with the iPhone 12. Indeed, several rumors suggest thatthe next range of the apple brand will use this same square design, with features specific to those of a 2020 phone.
However, several reports suggest that we will have to wait longer than usual to see the release of the iPhone 12, delays due to the coronavirus pandemic and the health situation which paralyzed China for a few months.
