Whilethe new HomePod mini has just been released, with its flamboyant colors, Apple has just unveiled update 15.1.1 of the internal software of its connected speakers. We can say that it’s timely!
A new update for HomePod and HomePod mini
If you have a HomePod or HomePod mini, you may have noticed some bugs if you want to listen to a podcast. In fact, several users have complained about not being able to start playing their shows on the Apple Podcasts application from their connected speaker. Which can be honestly frustrating.
So, this new update to the internal software of HomePod and HomePod mini should resolve this problem. In any case, that's what Apple claims. And we hope that this will be the case, given that this correction is the only new feature of this update.
Last week, version 15.1, which arrived at the same time asiOS 15, provided support for Lossless and Dolby Atmos.
To take advantage of version 15.1.1, your HomePod or HomePod should update automatically in the coming days. Provided you have authorized this option in your speaker settings.
If not, you can force the update manually. Here's how to update your HomePod:
- Go to the Home application
- Go toDomicile, the little house at the top left
- ChooseHome Settings
- Click onSoftware update
Quite simply!
Automatic update or not, this procedure should therefore force the download and installation of the brand new version of the OS for HomePod and HomePod mini.
So, if you were having difficulty listening to your podcasts with your Apple connected speaker, the problem should be corrected with update 15.1.1.
