It's done, since Friday, the new seriesd’Apple TV+,Monarch : Legacy of Monstersis launched on Apple TV+. This original creation is set in the Godzilla universe. As a reminder, here is the synopsis of this production:
Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that the monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters follows two siblings in their father's footsteps to uncover their family's ties to the secret organization known as the Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and then into a parallel world.
Fairly positive reviews
And indeed, the first criticisms have fallen. Thus, according to our colleague fromJournal du Geek:“If this series does not have the singularity of Severance, the mastery of Silo or even the technicality of Foundation, it is among the productions that are worth the detour at the end of the year. This is particularly true when the series seizes the fundamentals of the monster film to deviate from it and deliver a more ambitious story on trauma, the merits of a fight against these creatures and filiation”.
The impression is also positive on the sidefrom the Parisianwhich underlines:“But action, suspense and twists and turns are clearly present in this fiction, which is otherwise very much of its time: its cast includes as many female as male main characters, and does not forget to address some cruelly current themes, such as the decline of biodiversity or the destruction of the environment”.
Note that Monarch obtains a rating of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and 69 on Metacritic, which is very honorable.
