It's a safe bet that all products equipped with third-generation MagSafe connectivity will be compatible in the future. A MacBook Air M3 is particularly eagerly awaited, because this model could present itself as the most affordable laptop marketed by Apple when it is released.

Is the MagSafe socket about to disappear on Mac?

Today, it is the MagSafe 3 socket that equips all of Apple's new laptops. However, for several years, the Apple company had abandoned its in-house connectivity in favor of USB-C. The return to the origins, however, may soon prove particularly problematic for Cupertino. In fact, the European Union is trying to impose the universal standard – this making it possible, in theory, to generate less waste. However, for now, the regulator's official guidelines do not apply to laptops. What's more, even for mobiles, manufacturers have until the end of 2024 to abandon proprietary connectors.
