New elements on Apple's generative AI, Bard's competitor

There is no “no sign” of the arrival of a major new service using artificial intelligence within Apple products, for the moment. This is what the relatively reliable Taiwanese researcher Ming-Chi Kuo assures in a new article shared on his blog, explaining that the technology is clearly not yet at the level of that of the competition, at Cupertino.

Apple, however, is not left out when it comes to offering us AI-powered features. The proprietary Siri voice assistant, for example, provides more precise responses this way. But here it is: Alexa and others often do much better, because Apple cannot seriously improve its software without going through a massive collection of personal data whichwould questionalways highly its leaders. However, it is indeed this platform which should, in the long term, benefit from Cupertino's advances in artificial intelligence.

The competition is tough

While waiting for the arrival of a potential alternative from Apple, users looking for generative AI can still use Bard, the Google solution now available in French. Its results should certainly be considered with a grain of salt because errors can occur, but the tool is completely free and stands out for its ability to search the web, where this functionality is paid for at ChatGPT.

ChatGPT still remains the number one in the industry, it seems. This program created by OpenAI, previously a non-profit and supported by Elon Musk, allows you to generate cover letters, the outline of an article or even a story to tell to little ones before bed. But here too, the text can be biased and it is important to check the content before potential publication.

To create images from scratch, Microsoft's Bing search engine offers free access to DALL-E, also designed by Sam Altman's teams. But the commercial use of content produced in this way remains limited.

Use ChatGPT with Siri

For the more DIY enthusiasts, it is also possible totrigger requests to ChatGPT via Siri, from his iPhone. On the other hand, the response will always be obtained in text form: it is impossible to discuss orally with the OpenAI model with this tip.
