New waterproof iPhone 5/5s and 5c cases from Otterbox: the Preserver series arrives

Among the accessories manufacturers offering waterproof cases for iPhone, we
particularly appreciates the Lifeproof brand which was recently acquired by
Otterboxas seen
in this article.

Otterbox, specializing in robust cases, is pulling out all the stops with these
lately and
after the “purse and business card” model seen here, it is a
new series of waterproof hulls: theOtterbox Preserver
which is available for iPhone 5 and soon foriPhone 5setiPhone
5c:

This case is clearly inspired by the Lifeproof cases (like the Fre tested in this
article) withtwo plastic pieces that fit togetherplus one
rubber frameallowing it to absorb any shocks.
It appears much less massive than"Armor" coke
launched last year.

Otterbox announcescomplete sealing (water, dust,
etc). However, we do not haveno information yet on
protection and/or use of iPhone 5s Touch IDwhen he
is protected by this shell. It indeed seems difficult or even impossible
to manage to combine the two functions.

In order to please all users (or almost) the case will be offered
in4 colors: Carbon, Primrose, Pistachio and
Glacier.
