Clearly, Spotify never stops announcing new features. After implementing thetranslation of podcasts using artificial intelligence, the company recently announced the addition of a selection ofmore than 150,000 audiobooksto its premium subscription. Enough to strengthen the loyalty of its paying users, but that's not all.
Even though Spotify refuses to reveal its future features, it didn't take long for some to discover them for themselves.Techcrunchreported on October 6 the findings made by Chris Messina, the inventor of the Twitter hashtag, as well as by certain Internet users. And these discoveries are significant!
Soon a Superpremium version
By digging into the code, Chris Messina would have discovered Spotify's potential future subscription:Superpremium. As you might have guessed, it should be a higher subscription than the current one. This new offering should offer more possibilities, but obviously, more features mean a higher price. According to the data found in the code, Spotify's supposed next Superpremium plan should be offered at a price of$19.99 per month. We can imagine that the price will be higher in France in euros, given that the premium version is currently $5.99 per month in the United States, compared to €9.99 per month in France.
New features thanks to artificial intelligence
Spotify seems to have become familiar with AI! The code reveals that the company doesn't appear to have just used it to translate podcasts. The Superpremium subscription should also benefit from this.
Here are the new features that were found in the code:
- AI playlist generation tools
- Allows you to create a playlist from a simple request (or a prompt for those more familiar with AI language)
- 24-bit lossless audio
- Better, more immersive sound
- Additional listening hours on audiobooks
- Superpremium users will be able to benefit from 20 to 30 hours of listening time, compared to 10 for Premium subscribers
- Your Sound Capsule
- A feature which analyzes the tastes of each user and which will offer exclusive content, specific recommendations, or even early access adapted to each person's tastes
Spotify boss Daniel EK refused to comment on these new developments: “At Spotify, we do not comment on speculation about possible new features and have nothing new to share at this time».
