Pages and Notes finally come together in iOS 17

Apple has always had two different applications for taking notes. The “Notes” application allows you to write a few lines on the fly, without really thinking about the formatting. “Pages” for its part looks more like the well-known Word solution from Microsoft.

The two applications have been present on iOS for years without Apple developers having ever created the slightest bridge between these two worlds. But withthe arrival of iOS 17things are about to change.

Finally a connection between Pages and Notes

Indeed, the Apple brand has just published in the first beta of this new OS an option allowing you to start a text in “Notes” before resuming it in “Pages” and thus benefit from all the layout options .

In addition to this functionality, Apple brings new models to Pages, notably for creating business reports, school assignments and even greeting cards. SVG graphics (Scalable Vector Graphics)are also arriving on“Pages”.

Widely used on the web, this format was until now poorly supported by Apple's native applications. Things are about to change again and it will be possible to open SVGs in Pages but also to decompose them.

Pages, Notes, Numbers et Keynote

This new, highly anticipated feature should appeal to thousands of people who work every day on their Mac or iPhone and use the “Pages” and “Notes” applications simultaneously.

At the same time, the Keynote and Numbers applications are entitled to several developments. The most important remains support for SVG files. Regarding presentations made with Keynote, they can now be shared more simply during a FaceTime call.
