iPhone 12 production in India has just started

It took five years to get there, due to logistics, delays and partnerships with the largest Asian subcontractors. It's done: Apple has just officially announced, according to the newspaperPunjab News Express, that mass manufacturing of the iPhone 12 would beginsoon. The smartphones that will emerge will also be primarily intended for the local market.

A strategy of choice for the apple brand, since it seems to be experiencing phenomenal growth locally. Thus, according to the analyst firm CyberMedia Research, the number of mobiles sold by the firm would beincreased by 60% in just one year. During the last quarter, which saw the end of year holidays and Black Friday, sales even doubled, still based on the same estimates.

A story started in 2017

In reality, this is not the first time that Apple has taken advantage of India's encouraging legal framework to produce its mobiles there. Indeed,the iPhone SE has already been manufactured there, whilehis successor was also entitled to the same assembly lines. There we find a more affordable workforce, but above all a much less tense political context than with China, especially at the moment.

L’iPhone XR et l’iPhone 11are also produced -among others- in India. Still available on the official Apple website, they have not been removed from the shelves probably because their technical sheet continues to convince. Furthermore, consumers often benefit from more affordable prices when it comes to these models, including when they are new.

Resolutely high-end

With no less than four gigabytes of RAM under the hood, the iPhone 12 still remains the most efficient. Especially since it is available in several versions, including the Pro and the Pro Max which are equipped with more interesting components on paper.

The camera, for its part, also has a LiDAR withthe iPhone 12 Pro and with the iPhone 12 Pro Max. This radar also called ToF (fortime of flight, eitherflight timein French) provides better results with Portrait mode. Many also praise its strengths when it comes to measuring distances for applications inaugmented reality.
