For several months, India and China have experienced more or less violent incidents at the level ofborderwhich separates the two countries. Several drastic measures followed, including the ban on certain Chinese mobile applications on the peninsula. Furthermore, according to theSouth China Morning Postwhich relates the affair, thevisasallowing workers to cross are now delivered in dribs and drabs.
However, it is preciselyin Indian factoriesthat a significant part of the manufacturing of iPhones is taking place. Apple has in fact chosen to relocate a small number of its activities there little by little. Logistics requiring in particular the experience of Chinese talents, some of whom would therefore be slowed down or even blocked by this situation.
An impact on deliveries?
While it is currently impossible to put figures on such events, it is not unlikely that they will cause delays in iPhone orders. In fact, several months ago it was the launch ofthe second generation iPhone SEwhich would have been slowed down, this time following the coronavirus crisis.
To try to stem the phenomenon, the Indian government has, however, imagined a program offinancing for international exports. An initiative supported by Apple, which would also have influenced the amount of aid, probably hoping to encourage the arrival of its iPads in the region.
