What is Apple's Project Alaska?

There could only be a few months left before the release of the Apple mixed reality headset. We learned earlier this week that the firm had invited numerous developersto participate in workshops. This is to best support them in the development of third-party applications. This is perhaps a sign that the release is fast approaching!

In any case, we also learned last month that the firm would preparetwo new mixed reality headsets. Even if for one of them, chances are it will never see the light of day. Regarding the other headset that Apple is reportedly working on,this would be the second edition of the Vision Pro, but we have had little information about it.

Today, we will be able to learn a little more thanks toMacRumors, who received unprecedented revelations.

The Cupertino teams gave a code name to this project, as you read above, it is the “Alaska". Why such a name? We ignore it. However, we know, according to MacRumors, thatthe device has the identifier N109. It would greatly resemble the first version of the helmet visually, but with some nuances.

Firstly, and unlike the first version, the Apple Vision Pro N109 apparently does not haveno rounded brancheson the sides. The side straps would indeed be flat. On the first edition, they contain the speakers, but it is not yet clear where they will be located on the second, and if they will be the same. They could indeed be replaced by smaller models.

The rear straps could also be different, with simpler construction. Which would confirm rumors claiming that the Apple Vision Pro 2 could cost less.

And the components?

In terms of technical characteristics, MacRumors indicates that it would have“a range of cameras and sensorssimilar to those of the first helmet". It could be equipped with new electronic components, but we do not yet know which ones they are.
