- iPhone 15s could ditch the 128GB option
- The iPhone 15 Pro could accommodate a 2 TB edition
- The arrival of USB-C would also make up for the lack of an SD card reader
According to new information, the iPhone 15 Pro could be available with four storage capacities on the menu: 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB. For comparison, today, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max are offered in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB but the basic option proves relatively limited for many, especially since Apple does not offer a card reader SD with its high-end mobiles.
We do not know the potential storage capacity of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, but their predecessors are now available in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. No 1 TB version, therefore: this one is reserved for Pro models. Will the 2 TB version suffer the same fate in 2023? We leave you the sole judges. In the meantime, Applecouldprovide the official answer to this question no later than next September.
iCloud in support
With this, remember that Apple already offers 5 GB of storage free on iCloud to all users of its devices. Whether Mac, iPad or iPhone. But inevitably, this capacity remains quite thin:packagespaid therefore make it possible to enhance it. With end-to-end encryption helping to reduce the risk of data theft from potential hackers.
What about Lightning keys?
Alongside online storage services, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro may also be able to accommodate Lightning keys via their charging port. Working like USB keys, these interfaces also often have a second universal connector to then read them on a computer.
This, of course, without taking into account the probable arrival of USB-C on iPhones in 2023. This has not been officially confirmed, however. Like our information of the day, moreover: these files must therefore be considered with a grain of salt, for the moment. But USB-C is already available on Mac and iPad, and the European Uniongrowsfor its adoption by all manufacturers. It is therefore, it seems, only a matter of time before Cupertino must get up to speed on mobile too: the deadline is set at the end of 2024 by Parliament.
