Apple Keynote of September 10: robot portrait of the new iPhones

The iPhones have for a while now been presented every year in September, during Apple's now traditional back-to-school keynote. This year, there have been many rumors about the new generation of Apple smartphones, as is often the case. Here is the robot portrait of this range of iPhone version 2019, based on the predictions and latest reports on the subject. Tomorrow's revelations should theoretically not stray too far from it, barring any big surprises.

A range, 3 new iPhones

The new range should consist of 3 models. The descendants of the iPhone XS and XS Max should be called iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Here are the expected characteristics about them:

  • OLED panel, 5.8 inches diagonal for the iPhone Pro model and 6.5 inches diagonal for the 11 Pro Max model, as on the 2018 models
  • screen with haptic feedback (like on iPhone XR) and no 3D Touch
  • Face ID, no Touch ID
  • A13 processor chip, evolution of the A12 Bionic in iPhone XS
  • 6 GB of RAM (2 more than on the iPhone XS)
  • 12 megapixel front camera
  • 12-megapixel rear camera with three lenses, telephoto, wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle
  • bilateral wireless charging
  • integration of the new Wi-Fi 6 technology
  • Available in 128, 256 or 512 GB versions
  • expected from $9.99 for the iPhone 11 Pro and $1,099 for the iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • port de recharge Lightning
  • 3,200 Ah battery for the iPhone 11 Pro and 3,500 mAh for the iPhone 11 Pro Max

The iPhone XR would have its successor this year, the iPhone 11. Here are the probable characteristics of the latter:

  • 6.1-inch diagonal LCD panel, like the 2018 iPhone XR
  • screen with haptic feedback and no 3D Touch
  • Face ID, no Touch ID
  • A13 processor chip, evolution of the A12 Bionic of iPhone XS
  • 4 GB of RAM (1 more than on the 2018 iPhone XR)
  • 12 megapixel front camera
  • 12-megapixel rear camera with dual lenses
  • no Apple Pencil support
  • bilateral wireless charging
  • 3,000 mAh battery
  • integration of the new Wi-Fi 6 technology
  • port de recharge Lightning
  • Available in 64, 256 or 512 GB versions
  • expected from 749 dollars

Design and other details about the 2019 iPhones

For the design of the iPhone 11, you will have to count on a front almost identical to the 2018 models.

At the rear, a few changes should be noted. On the one hand, there would be a large block dedicated to the camera, containing the photo sensors in addition to the flash. On the other hand, the Apple logo couldfind yourself in the center of the box, when on older models it was placed closer to the top edge. The back of the terminals would also be made of a more solid and matte material than current models.

In photos, the triple lens should make it possible to improve quality compared to the previous generation, in an attempt to catch up with competing smartphones which excel in the field, notably Google's Pixel 3, one of the best in night photography.

The 2019 iPhone XR would only have two sensors, integrated into the same square on the back of the device. It would also be offered in different colors, much brighter than the classic and probable Space Gray, Silver and Gold of the iPhone 11 Pro.

As for Apple Pencil support, few sources agree on the subject. It is therefore better to count on the absence of such a characteristic.

Finally, note that there would still be no USB-C connection in the program, unlike the latest iPad Pro. On the other hand, the new iPhone range would be entitled to support for Dual Bluetooth, for streaming audio to two Bluetooth systems simultaneously, but also Face ID with improved field of vision. This would allow the sensors to detect a face even with the iPhone flat on a table.

Last but not least, the names are still up for debate. Several specialists remain reserved on the subject, particularly for the iPhone 11 Pro Max. But no other proposal has been made so far, iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max therefore constitute to date the only possibility seen in rumor.

See you tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. on iPhon.fr to follow the conference live and find out everything about these 2019 iPhones.
