It's official: iPhone stocks limited due to coronavirus

The coronavirus continues to create many concerns, both at the public health level, with deaths reported in more and more countries, but also at the tech level, with delays at many subcontractors.

However, it was difficult at this stage to have certain information about the production of the iPhone and whether it would be able to keep the same pace as usual. Recent rumors haven't really agreed on this point.

On the other hand, we have already been able to get an indication of the impact of the coronavirus on the stocks of certain Apple products. Macs displayfor several weeks, delivery times have been extended.

For the iPhone, confirmation finally came last night, from Apple directly. Via an official report published on its Newsroom page, the Californian firm therefore affirmed that it could not meet its objectives announced during thelatest financial statement. Several reasons underlie this readjustment.

Apple announces iPhone stocks in the coming weekswill find themselves limited. And this, despite the reopening of the factories of its Chinese subcontractors and the relocation of certain production lines outside areas affected by the virus.

Production has resumed at a slower pace than normal, due to health measures taken on site to protect the population as much as possible and stem the epidemic.

Impact on iPhone sales in China

Another logical consequence of the Chinese coronavirus, adecline in iPhone sales in the country. Indeed, many Apple Stores and Apple partner reseller stores are still closed to this day in China. In addition, stores that have already reopened are only open for limited hours, and obviously, with very few customers present.

The Californian firm obviously does not fail to specify that it wants to prioritize the health of its employees above all else, to justify this turnaround regarding its upcoming financial objectives.

We must therefore count onExtended delivery times for iPhonesin the coming weeks, while no information has been provided regarding stocks of other Apple products. This would mean that only the iPhone would be seriously affected, for the moment.
