What is the active noise reduction of the new AirPods Pro worth?

AirPods Pro have been available for a few days.Find their complete technical sheet hereethere is our comparison between AirPods Pro and AirPods. They stand out from AirPods by their in-ear format and the integration of active noise reduction technology. The first feedback concerning them isquite positive overall. But while these first opinions were rather fresh and followed little extensive testing, the first returns from tests carried out over the longer term are starting to appear on the internet.

One of them is signed by the audio specialist site SoundGuys. In addition to his positive opinion on the new pair of headphones, his report is interesting. Indeed, the tester measured the performance of the active noise reduction of the AirPods Pro very precisely. He notably compared the technology to that of the Sony WF-1000XM3, another pair of in-ear headphones with active noise reduction recently available on the market.

Good technology from Apple, but not the best

First of all, as the SoundGuys tester points out, the active noise reduction technology of the AirPods Pro is excellent. It works well and should satisfy the majority of buyers.

However, it is less effective than the active noise reduction of Sony's headphones, the WF-1000XM3. These manage to better eliminate surrounding sounds that may be annoying, as shown by their attenuation curve. The higher the curve goes, the more effective the attenuation of external noise is. We see in particular that at the top of the spectrum, the Japanese's earpieces perform much better than those of the Californian.

Despite this, the test concludes by affirming that the AirPods Pro constitute an excellent choice in terms of in-ear headphones with active noise reduction, especially for owners of Apple equipment, and for many other advantages than just the technology of Noise cancellation by the way.

And you, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the noise cancellation of your AirPods Pro?
