Summary of tonight's conference: Mac, iPad Air, iPad mini Retina, OS X Mavericks and many other new features to (re)discover

After months of rumors, photos
blurry and leaking, it's finallythe big day, the day of
keynote dedicated to the iPad.

In its invitation, Apple told us that it still had a lot to cover and
the least we can say is that this is the case. Indeed, if
the iPad was in the spotlight at this conference, he had to
sharing the stage with many other new releases.

iPad
Air, iPad mini
, OS X Mavericks, Mac Pro and more, I suggest you
relive this evening's conference in a few
paragraphs
:

Some numbers to start

Just a few weeks after the launch of the iPhone and iOS 7, it
It's normal that Tim Cook comes back a bit on the sales figures.
Apple's CEO deliberately only gives global figures. Impossible
then to know what the iPhone 5s or theiPhone 5c. We also obviously talk
of iOS and its massive adoption:

  • 9 million devices sold in the first week, this is a record for
    l’iPhone
  • 200 million devices running iOS 7

Once these dizzying figures have been released, it's time for the video of the launch in
Apple Stores around the world. Apple even has the luxury of a small
press review. But after the numbers, it’s time for serious things…

OS X Mavericks improved performance in the service of autonomy

Since its presentation at theWWDC
2013
, OS X Mavericks has remained very discreet. Today's conference
was the opportunity to once again highlight the operating system
Macs.

Available today,it will be offered free of charge
on the Mac App Store you will find the new features announced as
the appearance of iBook and Maps on Mac, but also notifications
for websites in Safari, tags or even Keychains. We will find
also a whole bunch of optimization aimed at saving energy, improving
autonomy and to lighten the processors of Macs in order togain in
speed.

MacBook Pro: little refresh

This evening, Apple also announced a new version of MacBook pro 13
inches. Equipped with the latest generation of Intel processors, the machine is a
a little lighter, but also thinner than the previous one.

In terms of autonomy, Apple promises 9 hours. Inside, we will find
SSD drives and all this for a lower price than the previous version. This
new 13-inch MacBook Pro will start at $1,299 and be available from
Today.

The 15-inch version is also entitled to its refresh, its new
4th generation processor and its new graphics card. She too is less
expensive than the previous one and will start at $1999

The Mac Pro: the beast is revealed

Also revealed during the opening conference of theWWDC 2013, the Mac Pro has since made
many envious people. With a design that is surprising to say the least, the dedicated machine
promises to be overpowering.

In terms of technical characteristics, everything is oversized. graphics card,
Ram memory, processor, ports in every direction, it's crazy!
Users will enjoy it.

This Mac Pro will not be within the reach of all budgets since the ticket
Entry is set at $2,999. It will be available from December.

iLife, iWork: a great wind of new features

iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand are, as expected, entitled to their new version.
All are 64-bit compatible and work perfectly with iCloud.
The app interface has been completely revised and hundreds of new features
await us this evening during the next update:

  • iPhoto: new design and possibility of making
print photo albums directly from the iPad app
  • iMovie: a bunch of new features including a function
'theater' which allows you to view all your videos in one place and
    whatever the device
  • GarageBand: here too, the interface has been completely
review and new features have been brought like a battery
intelligent capable of accompanying your songs.

Same story for iWorkwho sees its interface completely
reworked whether it is Pages, Numbers or Keynote. The interface seems
clearer and more in line with iOS 7 whether it is the version
iPhone, iPad or Mac.

All will be free with the purchase of a Mac or iOS device starting
Today. Yes, yes, it’s a gift!

The iPad Air: small, but strong

She's THE star of the evening. With its new design, the large iPad model
got a makeover.

As one might expect, Apple's tablet has undergone a treatment
youth and returns to us with more flattering measurements. Narrower,
the tablet also gains in finesse (20% anyway). Result,Apple
managed to lighten the iPad
and the end user should gain in
comfort of use.

Inside, the Cupertino company has also done things the way it does.
must. The iPad Air features the same A7 processor found in the iPhone 5s
M7 coprocessor included. 64-bit is therefore also appearing on tablets
and should reserve some good surprises on the gaming side. Even if on the side
of the screen size and resolution do not change, Apple has chosen to provide
a dual microphone and extensive 4G support. The camera does not
not change.

To get this new iPad, you will have to wait a few more days.
Indeed, France will be one of the 10 countries which will receive the tablet in
first i.e.November 1st. Pre-orders
will also start on Friday November 1st.

In terms of price, you will have to count from €489 for the 16 GB WiFi version and
€609 for the 4G + WiFi version. If the previous version disappears, the iPad 2
is still in the running for $100 less.

The iPad mini: finally in Retina

From the start of the conference, the question that everyone asks at
subject of the iPad mini is: will it be entitled to Retina this year?
Well it seems that Apple has managed to solve its production problems
because the answer is yes!

Users will therefore be entitled to the same resolution as on the iPad Air
i.e. 2048 x 1536. Here also the A7 processor is promising output
speed, performance…

In terms of appearance, the small tablet changes nothing or almost nothing except
the appearance of a new color: the space gray that we already have then
see
on iPods
or on theiPhone
5s
.

Available at the end of the month, and probably in very small quantities, it
you will have to pay €399 to get the 16 GB WiFi version and €529 for the
version 4G + WiFi.

To conclude

Here are the news of the day and the least we can say is
that Apple has not been stingy. What do you remember from the conference. What do you think
new iPads? The floor is yours!
