Rumor: due to lack of stock, the new 18 W fast chargers are only sold with 2018 iPhones

According to several rumors,Apple would integrate a USB-C chargerand a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box of the next iPhones to allow fast charging from day one.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone X can already benefit from therecharge rapide via USB-C, but at first, iPhone X and iPhone 8 users might notnot use this new Apple charger.

Indeed, according to a new report from the Japanese site Macotakara, this new 18 W fast charger would not be availablethat with the new iPhone 2018and would notnot sold separately, due to lack of stock. You will probably have to wait until 2019 to be able to purchase this separately.

Here is a factory drawing representing the European version of what this 18W charger would be:

A leaked photo allegedly showing the thicker American version of the 18W charger:

According to some rumors, the power of this charger would be 18 W and would allow compatible iPhones to recover 50% battery in 30 minutes, which is much better than the 5 W charger currently provided and which barely allows you to reach 20% in 30 minutes, as we saw inthis comparison of recharge times.

Finally according to Macotakara, accessories manufacturers should offer next yearMFi certified third-party chargersembedding a new Lightning chip bearing the reference “C48B”.
