The iPhone 8 could include a laser distance sensor for augmented reality and photography

With the launch of a new
development kit,ARKit, dedicated to reality
augmented, Apple is banking heavily on this technology to offer, thanks to
developers, immersive experiences for users.

According to a new report from Fast Company, the iPhone 8 would incorporate
a new3D laser sensor on the backof the device, which
would allowmeasure distancesin order to boost the
features ofaugmented reality and camera.

We had already mentioned a new 3D sensor on the front which would be used for
facial recognition, but this isn't the first time we've heard
talk about a new 3D sensor with laser aiming which would be located on the back of
the device.

According to Fast Company, this sensor would providebest
depth detection
, whichwould improve accuracy
augmented reality applications
using ARKit and would render
this even more powerful technology.

The iPhone camera would also benefit from this new sensor,
especially in terms of automatic focusing or autofocus which would be more
precise and faster.

Finally, this report includes one last interesting piece of information,
know that the physical buttons on the side would be replaced by buttons
with haptic feedback to allow better sealing of the iPhone
8.
