Whilemany sourceslike KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo
Securities or even theWall Street
Journalrefer to the iPhone 8 as the name of the anniversary model which
should be unveiled in September, the latter could well be called
otherwise.
Indeed, according to a new report from the Japanese site MacOtakara, Apple
could call the next model anniversary,l’iPhone
Edition, and is currently testingseveral
prototypes with different designs.
The name iPhone Edition suggested that this one would bea high model
high-end and more expensive, as is the case for the Apple Watch
Edition.
According to MacOtakara, Apple is testing several iPhone 8 prototypes, some
with an LCD screen, and others with an OLED screen. Likewise, the firm of
Cupertino would test with a clearly visible Home button and another integrated under
the screen.
Not all prototypes would have the same chassis, because Apple would
currently testing with several materials, namelyglass,
aluminum, and ceramic.
According to MacOtakara, Apple is currently evaluating what combination of
materials and technologies would be viable for large-scale production
ladder. However, the Wall Street Journal, Nikkei and KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo
Securities agree that the iPhone 8 would havea screen
OLED, and an LCD screen for the other two models.
Still according to the Japanese site, the only functionalities confirmed on
the iPhone 8 would bea 5 inch screen, therecharge
wirelessand adual photo sensor.
Concerning the screen, MacOtakara refers to thesurface
usable screen on a display that would be 5.8 inches, car the
lower part of the screen would be occupied byboutons
virtual.
Finally the Japanese site corroborates other rumors that Apple
would launch in parallel with the iPhone Edition, two other iPhones with 4.7 screen
and 5.5 inch which is expected to launch in September, anda
date shiftedfor the anniversary model.
