His house on wheels found thanks to Apple’s Locate app

Apple's Find My app has helped many users find stolen or lost devices, however it is not recommended to try to find a stolen device yourself with this app, rather you have to call on the forces of the 'order.

This is precisely what a 19-year-old American girl, Victoria O'Connor, did when her vehicle was stolen outside a QuickTrip convenience store in the United States.

She'd been practically living in her car ever since her apartment burned down, and she'd left the keys in the ignition with the car humming while she quickly bought something at the convenience store.

Obviously, what was supposed to happen happened, thieves left with his car filled with all his belongings, as well as his wallet, but also his iPhone.

She remembered the Find My app, which she used on a friend's smartphone. However, the thieves quickly turned off the iPhone, perhaps to avoid being tracked.

Except that a few days later, the iPhone reappeared on the radars of the Find My app, which led the police to a residence with numerous apartments.

Police were unable to precisely locate which apartment the stolen iPhone was located in, but they found the stolen car in the residence's parking lot.

Moral of the story, don't leave the keys in the ignition without anyone watching inside the vehicle, and perhaps invest in a future Apple tracker or AirTag.
