One billion and one hundred million! This is the number of users that the Safari browser, designed by Apple with the WebKit rendering engine, has just reached. A record for the market outsider, but which can clearly be considered as the number if we only take into account Apple devices such as MacBook Pros, iPhone 14s, iPad Pros and even iPod touches. All of them are in fact natively equipped with the software, known moreover for its foolproof speed on controlled products.

Despite everything, everything suggests that, according to figures from the Atlas virtual private network, Google Chrome remains the most popular browser in the world to this day. The platform would thus equip no less than three billion and three hundred million computers and mobiles, positioning itself as the leader in the sector without the slightest doubt. Quite surprising fact: Mozilla Firefox is actually only fifth, behind its competitor Opera, itself supplanted by Microsoft Edge.

Edge: the surprise of the year

But then, how can we explain this relatively unexpected burst of Microsoft Edge? The reason for the success actually lies with Bing AI, recently integrated natively into the browser and boosted by the results of the GPT-3 language model signed OpenAI.
