Approved by ARCEP in 2008, Syma Mobile is a French MVNO with at least700 000 clientsaccording to figures dating from April 2021. The company relies on the antennas of two historic operators to connect its customers: Orange on the one hand and SFR on the other. With 4G offers since 2016, the provider has also been offering 5G subscriptions since last July.
Syma Mobile offers no-obligation plansfrom 1.90 euros per monthat the moment, and whose price differs in particular depending on the amount of mobile data required. For 210 GB including 14 GB roaming in Europe, it costs 19.90 euros per month with unlimited SMS and MMS in addition to a selection of international destinations for calls.

According to information shared by the newspaperLe Figaro, SFR has therefore just bought Syma Mobile. The terms of the contract are not known at the moment, so that it is impossible to know precisely what will happen to the employees or how much money the operator with the red logo paid to acquire this medium-sized competitor.
In any case, this is not the first time that such an operation has been carried out by SFR. Indeed,the group has already discreetly offered itself Prixtel several months ago. With this, these are alsoHe called(Leclerc Mobile) andCorioliswhich came under the leadership of Patrick Drahi. So where will the company's growth stop? For the moment, the AMF* does not seem to have a say.
What will change
For the moment, however, there is no indication that Syma Mobile will disappear. On the contrary, the subsidiary will probably continue its activities as if nothing had happened for customers – or almost. Indeed,the Orange network has every chance of being abandonedgiven that the parent company is now one of its main competitors in France.
As for the pricing of the packages, here too it is difficult to know more at the moment. For comparison, RED by SFR starts at5 euros per monthfor 5 GB in 4G compared to 15 euros per month for 200 GB in 4G, but these numbers are subject to change depending on thedifferent benefits of the moment.
