We know that thenight modea
positive effects on healthsmartphone users and
tablet, or in any case, it limits the negative effects of screens to
too blue tendencies harmful to falling asleep and the circadian rhythm of
the man. The integration of this function directly into iOS was therefore the
welcome and one of the key improvementsd’iOS 9.3.
With its attenuation of the bluish lights emitted by iPhone screens and
of iPad, this mode,
supporting scientific evidence, is useful for improving the sleep of those
who regularly read on their electronic device in the evening before
sleep in a dimly lit environment.
However, we knew that you, readers,
are numerous, almost 2/3, to consult the iPhone or iPad every
evenings before bed.
The question then arose as to whether this night mode is useful to you,
please and to what extent you benefit from it. This was the aim of
last
survey launched last week.
The results
It seems that this mode has
met with great success since out of the 3333 voters,69 % ont
reported using it every time they read at night. If we add
the 12% who indicated “yes often”, this means that you are4
readers out of 5 use night mode very regularly. It is
impressive !
If we relate the figures to the total readerswho have
the function on their machine, the percentage ofusers
very regular rises to 85%!
As for those who are dissatisfied, this represents only 14% of responses, of which
8 voted “no, I don’t like it” and 5 “sometimes, but it’s rare”.
Statistically, it is undeniable, night mode has met a real
success among you iPhon.fr readers!
A popular function despite a small flaw
Your comments only confirm the numbers. Many of you
say verysatisfiedof the mode effect on the screen, with a
more relaxing effect, when some speak of reduced eye fatigue.
Some of you have also reported afallen asleep
easiersince using this mode.Concerning the management of the setting, rare
are those who let the iPhone take care of the change to orange on its own, you are
a majority to have chosen yourselfyour activation and
deactivating night mode.
The small criticism expressed with regard to this night mode is its
unfortunate incompatibility with certain devices. Finally,
a complaint is found several times concerningthe impossibility
to use night mode with power saving mode enabled, which
is all the more unfortunate as night mode is activated at the end of the day, when
the battery is not necessarily at full capacity. But if Apple has not seen fit to
allow the two modes to be combined, we imagine this because this mode is not
precisely not economical in terms of consumption.
Among the dissatisfied, who are very few in number for the occasion, the
yellowish color is considered either unnecessary or downright disturbing.
In conclusion, this mode makes people happy, Apple has hit the nail on the head, the engineers
of society should perhaps have even brought this about earlier, when
unofficial applications were trying to hold on to the App Store to offer
an equivalent of night mode for owners of iOS devices. We can nevertheless
appreciate that Apple did not keep this function for iOS 10!
Perhaps we will see aNight Shigt mode integrated into the next
MacOS suddenly.
In any case, thank you all for your responses, there were many of you
on this one!
