Spotify has just presented a brand new version of its iOS app, which now allows users to preview content directly from the home page. The content that is now displayed there can be titles, podcasts or even audio books selected by an algorithm based on your habits. On social networks, the first feedback regarding this version is however relatively mixed, with some preferring the previous edition, which would offer a better browsing experience.
However, not all iPhones have yet received the update, as it is being rolled outgradually, according to the publisher. The first testers have already been able to access it across the Atlantic, but others may have to wait several more weeks, or even several months. For those who are more impatient, a presentation video allows you to discover in more detail the changes implemented by the Spotify technical team:
Shortcuts revisited from top to bottom
With the new Spotify app for iOS, Internet users can find their profile photo at the top left of the home page, with quick access to notifications and the history of recently listened to tracks right in front. Just below other buttons have been placed, redirecting either to the music library, to the broadcasts, or to the e-books.
A little further down, it is now possible toscroll the screen to reveal suggestionsadapted to everyone thanks to artificial intelligence. These can notably take the form of videos, which is of course reminiscent ofthe rather worrying model of TikTok.
New for playlists
With this, Spotify has decided to integrate other recommendations within the playlists already created by users. So, whereas before these tips were confined to the bottom of the page, we now find them mixed with the rest of the reading list with therandom listening mode. Of course this remains optional: it is always possible to keep your own current selection, without additions.
As a reminder, Spotify is accessible in France from 9.99 euros per month for the Premium package, including the unlimited music catalog and without advertising.
