iPhone 16: good news, they all support Wi-Fi 7

The iPhone 16 presented by Apple during the keynotefrom Monday September 9 has no shortage of new products to attract consumers. Between the new camera control button,the record autonomy of the iPhone 16 Pro Maxand the features provided by Apple Intelligence (available from iOS 18.1), there is something to be satisfied. Another new feature available on all four smartphones and gone a little unnoticedwill have a significant impact on your daily life: Wi-Fi 7.

All iPhone 16s are compatible with Wi-Fi 7

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus feature the new A18 chip, while the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with an A18 Pro chip. Thanks to them,all four smartphones are compatible withWi‑Fi 7, and more precisely with Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) MIMO 2×2, as Apple specifies on its official website.

The American manufacturer recalls that the standard officially available since the beginning of the year is available in the countries and regions that support it. France is obviously one of them, although Free is currently the only operator to offera Wi-Fi 7 compatible box in our territory, namely the recent Freebox Ultra.

The theoretical maximum speed of Wi-Fi 6E, the standard available on iPhone 15, is 9 Gbps, while that of Wi-Fi 7 can go up to 46 Gbps. Of course, the quality of the connection also depends on your environment, including the number of devices connected to your network. However, iPhone 16 owners equipped with a Wi-Fi 7 compatible box will benefit from afaster Internet browsing, smooth playback of 4K and 8K videos or even reduced latency when gaming online.

As a reminder, the iPhone 16s will go on salefrom September 13on the Internet for pre-order before arriving in stores on September 20. You will have to pay at least€969 for the iPhone 16 128 GB and up to €1,979 for the iPhone 16 Pro Max 1 TB.
