The iPhone 16 Pro Max breaks an autonomy record

Apple didn't even mention it duringits iPhone 16 presentation conference this Monday evening,but Apple's new smartphones benefit from a new battery. The difference is especially seen on the Pro and Pro Max models. The Cupertino company explains on its website thatl’iPhone 16 Procan work for 27 hours in “video playback”. That's 4 hours better than the iPhone 15 Pro released last year.

This 17% increaseon the autonomy of the iPhone 16 Pro is also found on the larger Pro Max model, with its 6.9-inch screen, this smartphone has historically been the most enduring on the Cupertino side. This new generation will be no exception and the iPhone 16 Pro Max displays record battery life.

The Apple brand announces that the phone can operate for 33 hours in video playback mode. In other words, it works 5 hours longer thanl’iPhone 15 Pro Max, which had already been praised for its exceptional autonomy last year.

The battery: the project of the year?

Apple, for its part, justifies this gain in autonomy in two ways. The first is optimization of the energy used. The new A18 Pro chip delivers impressive results. In addition to its maximum performance, it is the excess of energy required which is interesting.The chip is very economical.

The second important point concerns the size of the battery. If we do not know in detail the evolution of this figure, we know that the Cupertino company has worked a lot on the battery of its iPhone 16, in particular to better integrate them into the titanium chassis.

Finally, Apple has made a small change to the charging capabilities of the iPhone 16. The 4 models can now reach 50% battery life in 35 minutes thanks to fast wireless charging with a MagSafe charger and a 30W adapter.

As a reminder, the iPhone 16 Pro will be available for pre-order from Friday. It will be in stores from September 20 at the price of1229€. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will be released on the same date, priced at1479€.
