Spotify announced yesterday that it had exceeded
60 million paying subscribers, allowing it to retain
easily its leading position in the streaming services market
musical.
The Swedish firm does not only rely on music to entertain its
subscribers, but also on podcasts. According to the Bloomberg newspaper, Spotify
would testhis own podcastsand would make it
promotion in its appto see how users
react.
This would allowpromote the Podcasts section of
Spotifyinstead of users leaving the app to launch Apple
Podcasts.
The Podcasts section is also located in the "Browse" tab and is not
does not particularly benefit from much emphasis, a lot
many users are even unaware of its existence.
Spotify would continue to launch several new podcasts in
coming months and to promote certain American shows in its
apps in exchange for a mention of the service in the featured shows.
During WWDC 2017, Apple this year unveiled quite a fewnew products for
podcasts, including a new interface for the Podcasts app,
functions enriching episode information and new tools
listening analysis for podcasters.
