During a speech on self-driving cars, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was very clear. For him, the autonomous car is not current, despite everything that Tesla, pointed out during his speech, can say about it. For humans, the arrival of the level 5 driverless car is not to be hoped for “during his lifetime».
His speech was a good opportunity to recall the numerous obstacles and constraints that the autonomous car will have to overcome and resolve. We are thinking in particular of infrastructures, which will have to be just as ready as cars, to leave competence to machines rather than to humans.
No mention of Apple Car, but criticism of Tesla
Rather originally, Steve Wozniak's speech never directly concerned Apple. However, the man has often spoken to the press about his favorite brand, notably by sharinghis impressions of the iPhone, or even more recently by wishing that the apple brandoffers a foldable smartphone in its range.

During his speech, the emphasis was rather placed on Tesla, a brand with which Woz, by his nickname, maintains a relationship “of love-hate". It must be said that for him, he is one of the main actors to have “too often fooled» its customers about semi-autonomous features.
“Tesla self-driving cars have shown a significant number of mistakes they can make, which even the stupidest driver would not make» do not hesitate to say the co-founder of Apple.
Without mentioning the subject ofApple Car project, it remains very difficult today to express oneself about the autonomous car made in Cupertino. During the previous summer period, the brand had nevertheless recruited one of the most important executives at Tesla, namely Steve MacManus, the former vice-president of engineering at Tesla since 2015.
