Studio Display has something in common with your iPhone

During the presentation of the Studio Display screen to the general public, Apple specified that the beast was equipped with a proprietary processor, theA13 Bionic. This is the one that we already find in the iPhone 11 range, and it is a real asset for guaranteeing top-notch performance for the most demanding users. But this is not the only advantage of the monitor.

In fact, it is also equipped with afront camera. A component that could really make the difference with the Pro Display XDR released earlier, butwhich is already receiving criticism because its image quality needs to be reviewed.

Improvements on the way?

However, as reported by John Gruber via his blogDaring Fireball, it turns out that the Studio Display is equipped with an operating system whose version number is19E241. Does this mean nothing to you? Normal, this is the internal nomenclature used by Apple. But it is also the one chosen foriOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4, the most recent versions of the programs running the American brand's mobiles and tablets.

Cupertino having already clarified that the problems linked to the 24-inch sound sensor are software related, so all that remains is to bet on an upcoming update so that video calls offer better rendering. Although of course, as is often the case, no information on this subject has been published yet.

Unable to access it

Unsurprisingly, the version of iOS 15.4 that runs Studio Display is installed in the background only and is actually impossible to use. In short, these are more or less the same limitations that can be found with the HomePod and HomePod mini OS, also based on that of the iPhone.

In the meantime, the best solution to take advantage of the monitor at work remains to connect a central unit such as a Mac Studio or a Mac Pro. Of course, laptops like MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs are also compatible and can duplicate or expand their virtual desktop.
