Patent: the remote control seen by Apple

The fact of wanting to transform
the iPhone as a remote control to control your television is not new. Of the
apps exist for boxes andsome accessories
like the one tested here already allows you to do it
.

We also know that Apple is working on a television and who says
television necessarily says remote control. A patent filed by the apple firm
tells us a little more about how Apple might view the
remote :

The remote control detailed in this patent would be capable of displaying
custom orders simply by taking a photo of the device at
control.

These photos would then be sent to iCloud, analyzed and the remote
would display a suitable interface. Concretely, this is how it could be
pass. First, the user takes a photo of their remote control
with, for example, his iPhone. This is automatically sent to iCloud
which will respond by sending back a virtual copy of the remote then in
able to control the device in question.

Obviously, the iPhone would have to be equipped with a sensor
infrared and according to the patent, a camera could even recognize the logo
displayed on the screen (that of a channel, a DVD, etc.) and thus adapt the
display settings.

Obviously it is a patent and we can well imagine the functions
possible. If the Apple TV is to see the light of day, it is certain that the iPhone will
probably an important role to play. Indeed, more and more, Apple is creating
a real ecosystem between its devices, iCloud is the proof.

Even with a simple remote control, it seems that Apple can us
reserve nice surprises.
