The post-apocalyptic universe ofSilois terribly successful: humanity, forced to survive an atmosphere that has become toxic, has taken refuge in gigantic underground silos. The first season was able to conquer the hearts of the publicwith its dark, oppressive atmosphere, complex characters and a very well-crafted plot.
Apple TV+has finally revealed a striking overview ofthe second season of its flagship series. This adaptation of Hugh Howey's novels, a unique blend of science fiction and dystopian thriller, promises to bring usnew shocking revelations from November 15.
A shattering and mysterious beginning
The first five minutes of the new seasonimmerse us directly into the action. We are greeted by an intense fight scene featuring a group of rebels, attempting to force entry into one of the silos, which falls under fire.
We can also see Juliette, the engineer who became a sheriff against all odds in the first season, who miraculously survives outside the silo. She thus breaks the pact condemning the inhabitants of the latter to death if they try to escape. A pact supposed to protect them and ensure their survival… or better control them?
Outside,it's not a very pretty sight, as one might suspect. Juliette evolves in an empty, rocky and hostile environment, overlooked by a sky covered with a thick layer of clouds. In short, it is not the ideal place to spend a vacation.
An enriched casting
For this new season, the series is enriched with a new actor, Steve Zahn (Bandidas,Blaze,Planet of the Apes: Supremacy), who joins iconic actors Tim Robbins, Rebecca Ferguson and Common. So we await a deeper exploration of the mysteries surrounding the creation of the silos and the true nature of the outside world.
The first season had already established that the last ten thousand humans lived underground, protected from an environment presented as deadly, but the lies that maintain this social order are beginning to crumble.
Apple TV+ thus continues to consolidate its position in the streaming landscape with this ambitious series which, since its launch, has captivated the public with its central mystery:why and when were these silos built? While the platform already has 515 awards and 2,308 nominations for its original productions,Silois part of this demanding editorial linewhich has already given birth to real gems likeSunnyorTed Lasso. Only ten more days to wait, and we will know a little more about this dark universe, adapted by director Graham Yost for the small screen.
