The latest iPhones
released with their enlarged screen makegreat GPSand to this
title naturally find their place in the car.
But for this, they still need to be well fixed to remain readable
and not wandering when making turns.
At the instance ofson
predecessor tested here, this is exactly what thesmart
plus, andsuction cup and jaw mount
described herewho has only one desire, that of crunching the iPhone, even in format
5.5 inches!
The Osomount SMart Plus is on sale herein three colors (white, black
and red)
We wanted to check, here is the result of our test and our
avis :
The support appears at first glance to be of very good quality, made of thick plastic.
and brilliant, it inspires confidence, no doubt about it. Compact in size,
it nevertheless offers anice size suction cup, while
that the clamp which holds the smartphone is extendable in order to hold the
machine from the smallest to the largest sizes, with or without shell
protection.
To stick the suction cup to the windshield, you must remove a protection
plastic, this helps protect the transparent flexible plastic.
This one is indeed sticky, in a material that does not mark, can be
remove and reposition.
When dust settles on the suction cup, affecting adhesion, it
can be reactivated by cleaning it with hot water. Then a small controller
open is located on the base of the support and presto we glue everything, we close
the latter and the whole thing is fixed!
The two positions of the lever, closed, it's stuck:
The whole thing is perfectly stuck to the windshield and should no longer
to move.
To remove it, unlock the controller and take off. Be careful, it sticks
strong, very strong! SOplan not to do it every
daysotherwise it will be necessary to clean the sticky surface regularly and
handling is not very easy when it comes to takeoff.
In the photo below, we can see the sticky substance at the border
between the windshield and the suction cup. Please note: during this takeoff, the
sticky remains well on the suction cup, there is nothing on the windshield:
Then comes the moment to place the machine on the jaw.
As the support is well glued, this is done with one hand by pushing on the
side or vertically in order to spread one of the two jaws, it is retained
by a spring. Handling is easy, no particular problem: neither
too hard, which would be painful, nor too soft, which would not hold
securely hold the iPhone in place.
The test with iPhone 6 plus, iPhone 6 and iPhone 5 gave complete results
satisfaction. The machine is held well in part by the pressure of the spring
jaws but also thanks to a flexible and grippy plastic part
present inside the jaws. For the iPhone 5 without protection, we note
that this is the lower limit in terms of fineness, below that the machine risks
come loose with road vibrations. With a shell, it should
go.
In pictures, it looks like this:

- iPhone 5 :
Then, to adjust the position of the iPhone facing the driver, a
ball jointis provided, it offers an angle of90 degrees in
lateral and vertical approximately. Note, the hardness of the rotation is
adjustable by screwing the knob located at the back: perfect!
This support is also equipped with an NFC chip which allows you to trigger a
action when a smartphone equipped with a reader approaches it. This can by
example launch the road navigation application. But not on iPhone, the
NFC is not available for this kind of function
Unfortunately. In any case if Apple decides to authorize this, the
support is ready!
In the end, a discreet, compact, robust, well thought-out and reliable support which
should ensure lasting satisfaction. For us, it’s adopted! He is
also available in white.
The Osomount SMart Plus is on sale herein three colors (white, black
and red) at a price of 19.99 euros.
