According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset could arrive in the rest of the world before theWorldwide Developer Conference. Contrary to what some specialist researchers believed. As a reminder, the device is initially only available in the United States. It is officially released on February 2, but pre-orders begin no later than this Friday. At the same time, users will be able to choose lenses adapted to their eyesight, but they will have to pay a price. Count on $3,499 for the frame, and $99 for the lenses.
The Apple Vision Pro is a high-end virtual and augmented reality headset, featuring a 4K screen for each eye. The panels are apparently manufactured by Sony, while the R1 processor is assembled by the founder TSMC, the same for the M2 which is also found under the hood of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. We also know that the Vision Pro is supplied with a battery separate from the device, but connected to it by a cable. This battery lasts up to two hours on a single charge, or even more in some cases, depending on the manufacturer.
Why is there no Vision Pro in Europe?
Ming-Chi Kuo also believes he has the reason that would have pushed Apple to only release the Vision Pro in the United States, at the beginning. Or rather “the” reasons, to be more precise. First of all, it would all be a question of inventory. The number of devices is thus limited, perhaps by the pace of subcontractors. But that's not all. Indeed, Cupertino would also like to test its sales model on a small scale, before internationalizing it. Finally, there would be a question of regulations. We know that legislators impose drastic rules on manufacturers, whether in terms of confidentiality or competitiveness. and these directives are not the same in Japan as in France or with Uncle Sam.
We still know that a good number of apps available at the launch of the Vision Pro already exist on Mac and iPhone, in Europe too. This is for example the case of the Mail inbox, Messages for exchanging SMS or even Apple TV. The platform notably offers access to Apple TV+ for 9.99 euros per month, but for a less extensive catalog of titles than Netflix or Disney+.
In which countries?
Apple has also not leaked the list of countries which will be entitled to theVision Profirst, after the United States. But the French market is one of the most prolific for the apple company in the European Union. However, this is its second most profitable market (EMEA group, also including Africa and the Middle East). China is third, with America of course still at the top of the rankings. In any case, according to the latest financial results provided by Apple to its investors.
- The Apple Vision Pro could be released soon in Europe
- The headset would arrive before WWDC
- Currently only available in the United States due to limited supplies.
