Apple has just revealed
record results for the last quarterprosecutor of
the year 2016, with 78.3 million iPhones sold, which allowsApple
to pass in front of Samsung.
Indeed, according to a new report from Strategy Analytics on the
last fiscal quarter of 2016, Apple recorded a market share of
17,8 %, followed very closely by Samsung with17,7
%, and behind Chinese manufacturers like Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo
continue to gain ground.
During the last fiscal quarter of 2016, Samsung sold77,5
millions of smartphones, eithera drop of 5%par
compared to the same period last year, with 81.3 million units
sold.
This decline is largelyattributed to the Galaxy scandal
Note 7 explosives, of which Samsung carried out a massive recall, and this has
benefited Apple and its iPhone 7 which recorded excellent sales.
However, in 2016,Samsung remains the manufacturer that sold
the most smartphones with 309.4 million units sold, et 20,8 %
of market share, followed by Apple with 215.4 million iPhones sold and 14.5%
of market share.
Chinese manufacturers continue to see growth in their
sales in the last quarter, with Huawei placing in third position
behind Samsung with 10.2% market share, followed by Oppo with 6.7%, and
Vivo with 5.8%.
Samsung will probably soon get back ahead of Apple this year with the
upcoming and expected release of its Galaxy S8 (and other models), including the
release has been pushed back to March to ensure this model is proof
defects thanks tonew, more rigorous tests.
