WatchOS still first in connected watch sales

Canalys, an analyst firm that regularly publishes its hypotheses about the mobile sector, has just published its latest survey about the smartwatch sector. We see in particular that many brands would have taken advantage of the last quarter (which extends from January to March 2020) to increase their quantity of products sold, such asFitbit- currently being acquired by Alphabet - or Garmin, which specialize in activity trackers dedicated to athletes. Asian firms neck and neck

In this ranking, we obviously still find Apple at the top of the list: Tim Cook's company would have sold no less than5,2 millions de Watch, which represents more than a third of the market share (PDM) of all competition combined! On the other hand, this number would be 13% lower than last year: a consequencefocus on AirPodsreorganized by the group or its stores closed during the COVID-19 epidemic? Mystery.

Just behind it isHuaweiwhich takes second place with “only” 2.1 million wearables having found a buyer, or around 15% of market share. This would be more than twice its 2019 results, the best progression in the table. Then comes Samsung, with 1.8 million accessories running Tizen. In total, all manufacturers would have experienced an increase in sales of 12%, with nearly fifteen million smart watches sold.
