WWDC: suspense is at its height with two new clues

There are only eight days left before the start of theWorldwide Developer Conferenceannual. But during the event, no device would be revealed, according to the journalist fromBloombergMark Gurman. It therefore seems that the announcements will be more focused around software from Apple, the organizer. Moreover, thenext Apple TV which had been talked about recently would be late. Still according to the same source.

These two pieces of information were not confirmed by the main interested party, as usual. Apple thus remains relatively vague on the content of the show, which invites app creators to Cupertino to take charge of the expected new features.

Among these, we can notably cite the case of updating toiOS 18. It is perhaps the most important of the event, which benefits from a new version of the mobile operating system every year. Alongside this presentation should also take place that of macOS 15, a platform this time intended for computers of the same name.

iOS 18 at WWDC: what we know

The star of the event will undoubtedly beiOS 18, with aspecial emphasis on artificial intelligence, it seems. Apple has thus entered into a partnership with the company OpenAI to exploit its language model. This would notably make it possible to drastically improve the search results offered by the voice assistant Siri. As a bonus, the latter would soon be entitled to better integration with the Shortcuts app. Between AI and automation, users could soon save time with mobile interfaces.

At the same time as iOS 18, Apple should also revealiPadOS 18. As the platform for tablets is based on the same source code, we expect to discover new features very similar to those offered on smartphones.

iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, just likemacOS 15, will certainly be made available the same evening as the Worldwide Developer Conference. On the other hand, these will probably be beta versions. In other words, not very stable and still victims of numerous bugs. Developers will be the first invited to access these versions, before versions for the general public are released in July. As for the final versions, these will require us to wait until September if Apple does not deviate from its deployment habits.
