- Apple is not expected to introduce a new iPad this year
- Reverse charging is also long overdue on iPhone
- The ChatGPT competitor that Apple would prepare would not be ready either
Tonight at 7 p.m. (Paris time), Apple is hostinga new eventthat you can followby our side. We hopediscover new products, including the famous iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro which have attracted a lot of attention in recent months. But other devices or services still seem to be in the pipeline, without being ready for the big day... Here they are.
1 – Reverse charging on iPhone
To begin with, you should know that although several sources suggest that Apple has already mastered this technology, reverse charging will probably not appear on the iPhone 15. Nor on the iPhone 15 Pro, for that matter. It's difficult to know what pushes the manufacturer to limit itself here. But it is likely that he does not want to alienate certain legislators.
Indeed, if reverse charging were to arrive on iPhone, then it will certainly not be compatible with devices from competing brands – many of which already offer it. However, this positioning can be considered anti-competitive by MEPs.
2 – No new iPad in 2023?
With this, everything suggests that no new tablet running iPadOS will see the light of day this year. This would then be the very first time since the start of the range of large touch screens, almost fifteen years ago. The fault, it seems, is the crisis which pushes consumers to turn only to essential equipment. Now, that's not really the value proposition of iPads.
Indeed, even today, users largely prefer Macs – despite the release of the Magic Keyboard which almost allows you to transform an iPad into a laptop. As for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, these should be enough to watch series on the go.
3 – No alternative to ChatGPT
Finally, everything suggests that Apple's efforts in terms of artificial intelligence will also remain under the radar during the September 12 keynote. Siri should therefore not improve significantly, remaining lagging behind the Google Assistant or Alexa (Amazon). The fault, it seems, is respect for private lifethat Cupertino imposes on developers.
In terms of text generation, ChatGPT, Bard and Claude should therefore continue to be at the top of the podium of the most popular solutions.
