Test of an original iPhone and smartphone support: the Milo from Bluelounge

While most
iPhone supports are adapted exactly to the size of the mobile, the
support Bluelounge Milo
presents a completely minimalist appearance and
an original fixing solution.

This one is very differentpliers
of the Exomount / OsoMount support that we were able to test some time ago in
This item
, and which we really appreciated.

Indeed, in addition to its design, it has the particularity of allowing
to hang the iPhone thanks to a “sticky” surface.

Original solution, but is it practical? The answer in the review
details of the day, forour 83rd test
iPhone accessory
:

This is what we will see:

Premier contact :

From the first glance, we are surprised by the weight of the box and the support,
particularly light! Indeed, we could expect much more
heavy, because in general the heaviness of a support is the guarantee of its stability

But in Milo's case everything is different. Indeed, it is not the weight
of the support which will hold the whole together, but it is the fixing solution
using a sticky surface both for the phone and under the foot of the
support. These two surfaces arrive protected by a plastic
withdraw.

The support is available in two versions, one completely black and
the other in white and black.

Everything is perfectly molded, no burrs or defects visible to the eye.
The entire support is made of plastic, hence the surprising lightness of
at first glance.

Utilisation

You must first remove the cover at least from the part that goes
accommodate the iPhone. You then discover a surface that one might have thought
sticky to the finger, but not at all. In fact, this surface has a rather
unusual, adheres only to smooth surfaces such as glass
the back of the iPhone or the back of a case as long as it is not
grainy.

The second part below the foot has exactly the same part
sticky, and this is what will position itself where you want it
on your desk to ensure perfect stability.

In use, setting up the iPhone is therefore very
simply: you push… it’s stuck! you pull a little (not
even badly), it comes off. In use, the iPhone is really well held, it does not
does not fall and it is possible to choose a portrait or landscape mode and the
positioning height of the iPhone.

As for the foot, it is possible to use it without sticking it on a
office (smooth, remember!) but the best is to peel off the film
plastic that protects the gripping surface of the base. You then place your
support and be sure that it does not move more than a millimeter. You will be able to
then remove it when you want, for example to move it, but
there, you will have to pull a little harder because the "sticky" surface of the base
is wider than the one that holds the iPhone. So when you shoot for
get your phone back, he's the one who comes... Not the
support !

For those who are asking the (legitimate) question, know that the part
sticky does not leave a mark on the iPhone or desktop. To clean it
when there is too much dust or it no longer sticks enough, it is indicated
that this must be done with a simple piece of tape to stick and peel off.
This was not necessary during our test, perhaps later.

Another question that will inevitably arise: what are the hulls?
compatible? It's quite simple: the surface must be
well flat, smooth and very rigid for the moment when we shoot
in order to recover the iPhone. We can therefore imagine that silicone cases have
hard to stick.

Conclusion

In the end this support turns out to be surprising because it is very light but ultimately good
more stable than any heavier solution, the plastic part which
allows gluing is practical it allows use in both directions, it
you have to pull hard enough to remove the machine but this is the counterpart of a
Impeccable hold when using the iPhone in place.

An original and effective solution, which stays in place, perfect for
office, but should not be used in a car where the surfaces will not be sufficient
smooth (except the windshield but there is an angle problem) while the
particle at the zoo will be best for the car.
