CES in Las Vegas, this major annual electronics show, takes place next week from January 8 to 11. On this occasion, many brands and different manufacturers unveil new products. However, some major players avoid showing themselves there, like Apple… or almost. Because the apple company, a few days before the event, made anice snub to the competition, Android in particular. On a building very close to the CES convention hall, the Californian firm displayed a giant advertisement. This highlights one of its hobby horses: therespect for user data.
The poster in question was photographed by Engadget journalist Chris Velazco and published on hisfil Twitter.
Apple never shows up at CES, so I can’t say I saw this coming.pic.twitter.com/8jjiBSEu7z

We see on the giant advertisement, the following sentence: “What happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone”. This was certainly inspired by the adage associated with the city of Las Vegas, known for its much-loved nightlife: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. The idea is obviously to throw a dig at the competition. More particularly, Apple targets services, smartphones and OS that do notdo not respect the privacy of users. Android in particular is in the crosshairs, as well as smartphones that support Google's OS. The latter has access to numerous user data andregularly sends them to Google.
Nice move from Apple in any case, with this well-placed advertising poster!
