Go back in time with this Google Maps option

To celebrate 15 years of Street View, Google Maps is pulling out all the stops by offering a new feature on iOS and Android. Concretely, it is therefore possible to view historical images 15 years old using this new service.

For this, nothing could be simpler. Once in Street View, simply point to any location in a photo to display information about the location. Then opt to “see more dates” and you can then get the 2007 version of that location if it is available.

Soon the price of tolls on Google Maps

And since good news never comes alone, Google also made other announcements regarding Maps. The Tech giant thus promises:

In addition to our Street View car and trekker, we're piloting a new camera that will be fully deployed next year to help us collect high-quality footage in more locations. This new camera takes all the power, resolution and processing capabilities we've built into an entire Street View car, and shrinks them down to an ultra-portable camera system the size of a cat.

Google adds, not without humor: “But unlike cats, she's ready to be taken to remote islands, to mountain tops, or on a stroll through your town square.»

The Mountain View firm has made a habit of perfecting its service over time. To cite just one example, we recently mentioned this option which will soon allow us to knowthe price of tolls.
