AirPods Pro 2: the long-awaited update has arrived, here's how to install it

Apple announced during its June keynote the arrival of a firmware update for AirPods Pro 2. The Apple brand notably presented a new hearing health test functionality to use, in a second step, AirPods Pro 2 as everyday hearing aids. The Cupertino company had even obtained approval from the FDA, the body responsible for regulatingplacing health products on the marketin the United States.

After weeks of waiting, the famous update has just arrived. It is therefore possible to use your AirPods Pro 2 to carry out a hearing test. This update with the sweet name “7B19” is available on wireless headphones worldwide.

Unlike iPhone, iPad or Mac, firmware updates like AirPods are done automatically. If you haveAirPods Pro 2, there is a good chance that they are already updated to this new version of their software. To check this, you can go to the headphones information.

To do this, go to the settings of your iPhone. You will then have to enter the Bluetooth menu. Next to your AirPods Pro 2, you should see a small blue “i”. By opening this section, you will be able to swipe to the bottom of the page.

The firmware version currently in use will then be displayed. It must match “7B19”. If not, leave your AirPods Pro 2 connected to your iPhone for a few minutes. The update should complete on its own.

On the iPhone sideyou will have to wait for iOS 18.1,whose release is scheduled for October 28, to be able to test this hearing health test functionality. As a reminder, one in 4 people in France are affected by hearing problems, sometimes without even realizing it.
