The respected American magazine Consumer Report (comparable to “Que Choisir” in France) regularly tests numerous products, including those from Apple. The magazine has just published the results of a new comparative test between AirPods and Samsung Galaxy Buds.
After a sound quality test, Consumer Reports judges that Samsung's Galaxy Buds offer more faithful sound reproduction than Apple's wireless headphones.
This comparative test affirms that the AirPods do well in reproducing music and dialogue in films, but there are points to be corrected.
Consumer Reports judges that the main sound defect of AirPods is the bass, which lacks depth and does not faithfully reproduce bass sounds. The magazine also claims that there are problems with mediums that do not allow sounds to be perceived individually.
Regarding the Galaxy Buds, Consumer Reports judges that the bass is more present and deeper than on the AirPods. “The mids and highs are also much better.”

In terms of design, there is no winner, as it depends on user preferences. Some prefer in-ear headphones like the Galaxy Buds which better isolate outside sound, others will prefer headphones that do not fit into the ear for comfort or to hear outside noise.
Consumer Reports, however, applauds the integration of the AirPods with Apple products thanks to the H1 chip, as well as the small size of the charging case, but does not find it very practical to use the tap-based controls on the AirPods.
In the end, the American magazine gives a score of 86 to the Galaxy Buds, and 56 to the AirPods, and recommends Samsung's wireless headphones for a better hearing experience.
