Animus: a Dark Souls-style RPG action game on iPhone and iPad

On PC and consoles, the series
of Dark Souls games is very popular for its difficulty, its combat
methodical against bosses where any mistake can cost the life of the
player, however there is no port of the Dark Souls games to iOS, but a
suitor has just emerged.

"Animus – Stand Alone" is the name of a newgame
d’action RPG
developed by an independent studio that borrows heavily
augameplay of Dark Souls games.

Here is our test of this new title and what we think of it:

This is a 3D action RPG game where the player controls a warrior in
armor, his objective at each level is to progress and beat all the
enemies, but above all to eliminate the boss at the end of the level to validate
this one and receive rewards.

To control the character and fight enemies, you must use a
virtual joystickas well asdifferent buttons
which allow you to attack in different ways, use special moves,
use potions to regain health, block and dodge.

And in this game, the last two actions are very important to parry
the blows of enemies and avoid the devastating combos of bosses who will put
very quickly ends the character's life.

You will have to observe how the enemies attack (especially the bosses) to
learn toparry and dodge at the right timeand then
counterattack to defeat your opponents.

The game is divided intoseveral sections which bring together each
several levels
with increasing difficulty, at the end of each
level the player receives rewards, mainly weapons and coins
armor, as well as in-game currency.

The player gains levels as he progresses, which gives him
allowto improve their skillsand to obtain
new special moves.

A crafting system allowsto improve the equipment, ce
which is vital to be able to beat enemies and especially bosses who are very
mal.

The game offers a soundtrack that fits well with the dark and medieval universe of the
title, but alsogreat graphics, it is however
possible to reduce the quality of the latter on old machines in order to
to avoid slowdowns during combat phases.

We can also point out the support for MFi controllers which is a
positive point for this type of game where each error can be fatal for the
player.

Concerning the content, the game offers 5 difficulty levels, 3 endings
different, 24 quests per difficulty level, 13 to 17 side quests, and
11 boss fights.

In the end, it is avery good action RPG game, more
quite hard like Dark Soulsand who should therefore please
to fans of the genre who don't like easy things and appreciate fighting
techniques that require studying the behavior of the adversary.

The game is available oniPhone et iPadand includes
in-app purchaseswho are notnot necessary
to progress.
